Back Pain Treatment With Back2Life
If back pain were only caused by one kind of issue, it
would be easy to diagnose and treat it.
If back pain were only caused by one kind of issue, it would be easy to diagnose and treat it. Sometimes lay
people, and even doctors and clinics, act as if it were possible to hear the symptoms and then prescribe a pain
killer or a particular surgery or therapy.
They act as if that would work, but often it doesn't and people experience chronic pain, which is pain that is
strong and continues over a long period of time without much respite. Lives are debilitated by such awful and
ongoing pain that never gets much better.
The cure seems elusive, but that's only because the diagnosis is sometimes shoddy. There isn't just one source of
such pain. It's very individual since there are multiple causes of lower back pain. That's why your doctor needs to
be seen so he or she can investigate and diagnose why you are having the pain. In that way, the proper treatment
can be prescribed.
Xrays are important diagnostic tools, but they should never be used routinely. It's important that there be a
reason for taking an xray, something that the doctor suspects will be shown in a picture that cannot be known any
other way. This criterion for xray usage is part of the new set of guidelines for treatment of chronic lower back
pain set by the American Pain Society together with the American College of Physicians.
These guidelines are to set standards whereby proper diagnostic precedures will be followed. Diagnosis must be as
individualized as the treatment for the treatment to be effective. In that way, healing will be maximized and
expenses for health care minimized. Some of the causes for lower back pain have to do with muscles being strained,
but others are even more serious than that.
There can be mechanical problems with the spine, such as problems with discs, vertebra, facet joints, or nerve
roots. There can be congenital problems like scoliosis. There are other, less common problems, like tumors,
infections, and diseases. These have deeper sources than just accidental or congenital injuries, so serious
problems must be at least considered and ruled out.
When people are treated as individuals with specific reasons for their back pain, everyone will benefit. The doctor
will feel very competent as things get cleared up, the patient will feel better, the number of treatments and the
cost of these will be lessened so there will be less strain on the medical system. All will gain from this
change.
I strongly encourage you to check out Back2Life.
